This is my anthem.

Recently, anything and everything going on in my life, this is what I hear playing.

It’s become a happy song, a sad song, a pump up song, and everything in between.

This song got me through some of my toughest trials and here I am today!

Today, I got to speak to the Melrose Girls Lacrosse team. They made me... ME... they’re honorary captain this year. They all wear shirts that say “I am the storm.” Again, me!? I didn’t understand why or what to say to them, but it went a little something like this...

I really don’t know what I did to deserve this, I see it as all I did was fight for my life, I just fought really really hard to be here but seriously, you are all amazing.

What I really want to say is never, ever give up. Never quit. No matter what the odds are and what you have stacked against you, don’t stop. Always keep fighting. Be your own hype girl and when you have extra to give, hype those up around you.

Youre never going to be fully prepared for what life has to throw at you but learn to roll with the punches and when you get knocked down, because we all do, GET BACK UP. When the odds are against you, you fight. You fight to live. It was actually a year ago to the day that I came home from my 70 day hospital stay...

Everything will work out in the end, and if its not working out then it’s not the end. And trust me, I know how cliche that sounds but it’s true!

Find your anthem. Play it whenever you’re having a good day or a bad day. Do whatever you need to do at the end of the day to keep fighting to and to make yourself happy!!

Never ever give up. Never quit. No matter what the odds are and what you have stacked against you, don’t stop. Always keep fighting.
