Common colds.

Why can't we just have a common cold anymore?

Why does everything have to be "highly contagious" or "omg the vid?"

I went to the doctors this week and was DENIED access to healthcare because my son tested positive for RSV, but negative for the flu and covid.

The doctors office wouldn't treat me AFTER they pulled me into the room, took my vitals, asked me all the questions, and told me a doctor would be right with me.

Now, if you've been here for awhile you know that any time my ears hurt I get VERY nervous because I don't have much hearing left and I need to stay on top of that.

Or how if I get a slight cough or sore throat, I panic because I'm missing half a lung so I like to make sure they don't sound junky before I all of a sudden can't breathe and my oxygen levels drop.

I was told that I was an "upset patient, with likely a knowingly contagious infection (RSV) and they couldn't put themselves at risk even though we all had masks on and they had already taken my vitals and were previously told about my sons infection over the phone before I came in.

I was told I could switch to a telehealth appointment, in which I asked if they could look in my ears or check my lungs to which the response was "well no," so why would I want to do that?

What happened to the health care system?

Are you supposed to only go to the doctors if you're well?

Who is left to treat you when you're sick?

I was also told I could go to urgent care.

I did ultimately go there so I could find out if I had anything, which ended up just being a slight sinus infection, but why was it ok for me to "knowingly put the urgent care doctors at risk" but not my own doctor?

How long are we expected to live in a bubble?

When can we move on with our lives?

Stay hydrated, take your vitamins, get fresh air, and live life!
