First camp weekend!

I don’t look like a girl who went through an esophagectomy, a lobectomy, 3 rounds of ECMO, coded for 11 minutes, and was intubated 6 times, do I?

Somedays I feel like I’m invincible, but I look at my scars and know that I’m not. I was lucky. I am lucky.

Every May I open camp with my momma, well last year in 2020 I never made it there. I needed to be close to Tufts at all times.

I was taking just 6 whole steps last year. 6. Now I’m climbing on top of picnic tables just because I can.

Today I am here. I made it. I may not be running, but I am walking... way more than I was on this exact day last year.

I truly feel that I can appreciate life a lot more, as such a young age, because of what I went through.

So, here I am. Enjoying my first of many camp weekends this summer!
