Let’s start off with this is my favorite show. I literally have “Dance it out” tattooed on my food.

But it’s also very unrealistic. Watching what it’s like when Meredith wakes up from coming off a vent vs real life; it’s not all rainbows and sunshine.

I believe Meredith is in some type of purgatory where she’s trying like hell to decide if she wants to live or die. She’s on a beach, she gets to see everyone she’s lost that she loves, she’s having such a great time she’s not sure she ever wants to go back...

Those are not even close to the feelings that I had while intubated and sedated. I watched myself die so many times. Saw it and felt it each time as it was happening and kept getting up to fight for my life. That’s the type of “purgatory” I was living in.

I don’t know what everyone experience is. I can only speak for myself. But it was horrible.

You know what is real though? The disabilities and deficits that you may have after it. Or in my case, the issues that I am dealing with everyday.

Hearing loss, no voice, loss of strength, not being able to really walk well, and many more..

All I want someone to take from this is that just because it’s in a tv show, doesn’t make it real.

Be kind

xo

I think until someone walks in your shoes they have no clue. That being said let's pray for health for everyone. And full recovery for all ❤️🙏
