My daddy

Now, I’ll start by saying, my support system is amazing. It’s huge. Literally so many people around me that love me.

But my one of my biggest supporters between 2020 and now (well before all this too), is my dad.

Daddy, I don’t ever give you enough credit. You were the first man in my life. You stepped up and became my health care proxy and made all the decisions that needed to be made in order for me to live.

Let’s think about that for a second, this man, had to decide his 27 year old daughters healthcare, decide how much was enough, decide how much was too much, decide if I lived or died; all while keeping a strong front on for everyone else.

Ultimately, I chose to fight to live but I never would have had the opportunity to fight if it wasn’t for him.

It has been such a long hard road and it’s not over. I still have a lot more recovering, physically and mentally to do but I’m sitting here this morning reflecting, thinking how lucky I am to be able to just wake up, have a cup of coffee, and listen to the rain..

I used to take these small moments for granted, hell I still do sometimes. But then I think back to all that I’ve been through and all I have to look forward to.

In a few months, my daddy gets to walk me down the aisle to the man of my dreams and I am SO excited for all of us. For any of you that know my dad, you know he’s a giant teddy bear, a hard ass when he has to be, with a heart of gold.

I’ve always been a daddy’s girl but oh boy I really can’t wait to see him cry when he sees me in my wedding dress ❤️
