The one with Matthew Perry.
You all know him.
He’s everyone’s favorite Friend.
Did you watch his interview?
Did you see why he decided to turn his life around?
I’m feeling indifferent about it.
He said…
"”The doctors told my family that I had a 2% chance to live," Perry told the outlet. "I was put on a thing called an ECMO machine, which does all the breathing for your heart and your lungs. And that's called a Hail Mary. No one survives that.””
Oh.
Was it a Hail Mary for you Matthew?
Did someone force you to act stupid and end up on that life saving machine?
I’m glad you’re still here.
I think you’re great.
But…
“Adding another alarming statistic, "There were five people put on an ECMO machine that night and the other four died and I survived. So the big question is why? Why was I the one? There has to be some kind of reason."”
Why did you survive?
What are you going to do with it?
Why did I survive?
Why am I here?
THREE. Not one. But THREE times I was placed on ECMO as a “Hail Mary.”
Breathing tubes. Chest tubes. Central lines. Feeding tubes. Emergency surgeries. Blood transfusions. And so much more.
My family called in to say their goodbyes.
How in the actual hell did I keep fighting?
Could I BE anymore clear that I have no clue how or why I was chosen to survive this.
All Friends jokes aside, I really don’t know.
Every day I give an honest effort to be the best person I can be.
Will that be enough for me?
I don’t think so.
I think I was left here to do something bigger. Help someone else. Share my story. Strive for more.
For now, I'm going to keep doing my best and hoping it's enough.
Xo ✨
